Web Systems merged with digital agency OCTA

Last spring, two digital agencies, Web Systems OÜ and OCTA, owned by Semiway OÜ, decided to join forces and start operating together. After the transaction became effective, the partnership continued under the name Web Systems OÜ. Now Web Systems has offices in Tallinn and Tartu, the number of team members has grown to almost twenty and a number of great clients have been added to the client base.

According to Andri Sisask, CEO of Web Systems, thoughts of expanding to Tartu started long before the merger with OCTA appeared on the horizon. “In terms of the team, there are twice as many opportunities to bring in new people when you have a presence in both places,” Andri explains. “Secondly, we also wanted to get closer to the South-Estonian customer.” He continues, adding that Web Systems is a company with a long history and it was the right time to expand.

Why did OCTA decide to expand? “First of all, OCTA had a very strong portfolio and team to contribute. Secondly, they had the right office facilities on site in Tartu. This all fitted in very well with the different development concepts of Web Systems,” says Andri. In addition, the companies’ business profiles and values matched. Flexibility and a personalised approach to their customers were important to both companies. A very important positive factor in the merger between Web Systems and OCTA was definitely the rapport and understanding between the people.

Today, Web Systems and OCTA have been working together for almost a year. The two companies, which originally had similar profiles, have now settled on future business directions: Web Systems will continue to develop a range of services, including software and web development as well as mobile apps and e-commerce, while OCTA will focus on content creation and SEO. In this way, it will be possible to offer a more complete service to its customers with a wider range of services from the same company.

What is the most complete service offered by the combination of Web Systems and OCTA? On the Web Systems side, Andri opens up, “Our customer gets the assurance of not having to hire two completely different vendors for essentially the same project when they order a full service. For example, if a client wants a website or e-shop, SEO is an integral part of it anyway. If he were to take the two services from two different places, the risks would be doubled, but if the two contractors are similar, communicate with each other and are both familiar with the project, the whole process is much easier and more efficient for the client.”
