Annameau.ee is the website of the Blue Flower campaign. The Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors is behind the Blue Flower campaign, which supports Estonian Defence Forces and Defence League veterans and their loved ones with donations collected through the Blue Flower campaign. The website is the central information environment for the campaign, where visitors can make a donation, find sales points, read veterans’ stories and find out about Veterans’ Month events.

Client and cooperation framework
The Annameau.ee website was not built by Web Systems, but the cooperation with the client is long-standing. The first contact was made in 2018, when we were approached with the request to build the website https://www.evvy.ee/. Since then, we have been assisting the Estonian Association of Injured Fighters and related NGO projects with various web development and maintenance works.
In the case of Annameau.ee, the client came to us with a wish to make minor additions and improvements to the existing site. This is a good example of collaboration where we can quickly come to the rescue of an existing solution without the need to rebuild the entire website.
The working arrangements were simple and efficient. As the project was small, the client was able to communicate directly with the front-end developer and the necessary changes moved quickly. The work was done in phases and coordinated on an ongoing basis, which kept the collaboration smooth and clear for both parties.
What we did with the page
The work consisted of four major sections. Each change went live after completion and client approval.
- Logic of sponsor logos. We checked the display and hide function for sponsor logos and improved its reliability. We added a hiding option to give the content manager the flexibility to manage the logo blocks at different stages of the campaign. We also reviewed the logic of the logo carousel for sub-pages.
- Guidance on menus and content management. We helped the client to find the right places in the WP-admin environment to change the menus, submenus, display and hide language settings. We added a new menu item in the header that directs the visitor directly to the blue flower point of sale page, one of the most searched pages in the campaign.
- Page health and updates. We reviewed the technical state of the website and made the necessary updates to WordPress and plugins to keep the site secure and reliable.
- English language check. We went through the English version and checked that the translation content was consistent with the Estonian content.

Hit
Annameau.ee works as expected by the customer during the most active period of the campaign. The content manager can manage logos and menus independently and the point of sale page is now directly accessible from the header. The page has been updated and the English-language content moves in step with the English version. The scope of the work was small, but the impact on day-to-day use was significant.
