2006
As a second-year IT College student, Jaan Juurikas, together with his friend Raido Orumets, founded Poppworks OÜ, the predecessor of Web Systems OÜ. The fresh company had three missions — to offer the market better-looking websites, hosting, and cloud-based web development services.

2007
The company is run by just the two founders. The office alternates between Jaan’s parents’ home and the university, where the young men try to bring their ideas to life. The first clients come through the phone book, where they can browse websites and use that as a basis for cold calling. The first major client turns out to be 4kids.ee. Initially, the development platform in use is PoppCMS, created and developed by Jaan and Raido themselves. Later, they transition to WordPress.

2013
The team grows and moves to a larger office on Pirita tee. Pindi Kinnisvara becomes a client, bringing with it the first major success and growth. Web Systems begins building both new Estonian development project sites and real estate websites. The company becomes the market leader in Estonia in this field. Pictured is our website from that time.

2015
Poppworks OÜ changes its name to Web Systems OÜ, so that the company’s field of activity is more clearly understood from the name. Additionally, an opportunity arises to take over an entire large office on Pirita maantee. This marks something of a turning point for the company, as the prestigious office becomes a kind of calling card — a great place to engage with larger clients. More resources are also directed towards advertising and marketing.

2021
Andri Sisask joins Web Systems as CEO, seeing a great deal of untapped potential and interesting growth opportunities in the long-established IT company. Several internal structural and development process improvements are carried out. Also noteworthy is the merger with OCTA, a digital agency based in Tartu, in June 2022.

2023
The first major and ongoing public procurements have been completed. The team has grown by several new members, including an analyst, a sales manager, and a UX designer, not to mention new project managers and developers, all of whom have brought fresh ideas and know-how to the company. The offices are located in Tallinn at Ülemiste City and in Tartu on Turu Street.
